Accounts Payable Officer | Finance Administration

Join a dedicated finance team based in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. This is a 3-month contract offering a competitive rate of $51.12 – $56.72 per hour + super.

This role is perfect for a meticulous professional looking for a part-time balance, working 14.5 hours per week (2 days). While we have a consistent weekly schedule, we value flexibility for full-time work during renewal periods or to provide back-up support when required.

The Role

As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will provide essential financial and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of our finance department. You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payables and maintaining high standards of data integrity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Transaction Management: Accurately processing invoices, purchase orders, corporate cards, and charge accounts into the system.
• Inbox & Administration: Daily management of the finance inbox and assisting with regular payment runs.
• Reconciliations: Handling bank and corporate card reconciliations, as well as registration payments through the iMIS system.
• Compliance: Ensuring all work meets legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
• Reporting Support: Assisting with budget reviews, financial audits, and maintaining financial registers.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a "sharp eye" for figures and a sound understanding of accounting principles.

• Proven Experience: 3+ years in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role preferred but not essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced spreadsheet skills are essential.
• Software Knowledge: Experience with MYOB is preferred, though not strictly essential.
• Analytical Skills: The ability to handle complex reconciliations (prior accounting experience is highly favorable).
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
